Good morning, everyone --
I was so excited when I was watching Mary's video from www.cardztv.blogspot.com on YouTube and found out Paper Playtime http://www.paperplaytime.blogspot.com/ was having a challenge using polka dots and a sentiment. I was so excited because two of the cards that I made this weekend fit in this challenge -- so why not enter and join in on the fun. The winner of the challenge receives a Close to My Heart "Chalkboard Special Kit".
Well here are my cards for this challenge. The first card I used the Cricut Sentimentals cart to cut out the owl and Elegant Edges for the scallop shape. The polka dots on this card came from the DCWV Linen Closet Stack. My second card with the little snowman was a super simple card. I used my Cuttlebug to emboss snow flakes on a sparkly blue paper. My snowman and sentiment stamps are from Fiskars "Tis the Season" stamp set. The polka dots came from DCWV Stack 7.
Thanks for taking a look! See you later,
Jennie

CardzTV Stamps Design Team Challenge #13 "Color Me Happy"
Oh, my, I can't believe it has been soooo long since I last posted. I am determined to get back to making some cards every week and entering some challenges. The kids will be back in school, and I hope I can find some free time to do some card making. I really miss it. I have had a great time making my card for the CardzTV challenge www.cardztv.blogspot.com. The challenge was to make a card, craft or project using only the colors, royal blue, rich purple, marigold yellow and gray. You could also use a small amount of white and black.
I saw that Sarah of the Design Team had also used this cute Koala bear from Cricut's Create a Critter cartridge. Her card reminded me that I had made this little guy a while back but have never used him. He is so cute and fits the challenge perfectly. Thanks, Sarah, for reminding me about him.
I matted my gray card base with some papers from a Momenta card stack that I had purchased at Tuesday Morning. I love the rich colors of this pack. I have also used this cardstock to make a photo album for my sister-in-law's birthday. I used some paper flowers from Kaiserscrapbook to make his little posey and put a little bling in the middle. I then put him on an Action Wobble. The stamp is from Fiskar's Romance stamp set. I am loving the way this card has turned out.
Well, talk to you later, and I certainly hope it isn't as long as the last time. Have a great Sunday!

CPS 267 Challenge Entry
Sorry, haven't been here for a while, but have been really busy with end of school year and trying to get our yard into shape. Now that the nice weather is here, it seems hard to find time to do some crafts.
Here is the card I made to enter into the CPS 267 Challenge. I used Cricut Elegant Edges Cartridge for the frames and shapes. I cut it at 4" . I used the DCWV Linen Closet paper stack for the paper. The image of the adorable baby on the beach I have had in my files for a long time. I used water color pencils to color it in. I really like the way this card turned out. Simple, but cute!

RAQ's Card Sketch Challenge
Here are two cards that I made for RAQ's Card Sketch Challenge. I had a lot of fun making these cards. I especially like the cupcakes. I cut them using the Once Upon a Princess Cart from Cricut and paper from my scrap bin.
The bee on the second card came from the Sentimentals cart and the paper from DCWV. I love the colors of the paper.

60th Birthday Card
This is a card I made for our friend who had a surprise 60th birthday party. I used paper from the DCWV Glitter Stack and the 60 is cut from the Cricut Base Camp cartridge. The little present is cut from the Cricut Ultimate Creative Series Sampler cartridge. I really like the Ultimate Creative Series Sampler cartridge -- it has a lot of different images from a bunch of cartridges. It is a great one to add to your collection if you don't have a ton of cartridges.
I am going to try to submit this to the challenge on the Paper Playtime blog at paperplaytime.blogspot.com. Ch. #72 -- Say it with Sentiments theme "Birthday Card". Since I am a newbie at this, I hope I do it right.
Talk to you later!

Here are my first card posts!
Here are pictures of some cards I have made this week for some of the things we have going on and needed cards. I have also made a Mother's Day card for my mother-in-law.
The first card is a thank you to the piano accompanist who will be accompanying my son during his clarinet solo this weekend during competition. I used the Cricut Quarter Note cartridge and also some paper from the DCWV Peformer Paper Stack. The Quarter Note cartridge has so many beautiful images in it and also its own font. I just love how this turned out, and I hope she will too!
This is the inside of the card. The rose is also from the Quarter Note cartridge.
My other son has a birthday party to attend for one of his soccer buddies. I made this card for him using the Cricut Soccer cartridge and some rub on decals from Paper House Productions.
The inside sentiment says: ...at having an AWESOME Birthday! It turned out really cute.
And, the final card I made this week is the Mother's Day Card for my mother-in-law. She loves hydrangeas; and when I saw this layout in the Cricut Magazine designed by Lezlye Lauterbach, I just had to make it for her.
Thanks for taking a look. I hope to be posting more soon! Have a great weekend.
